Pilbara Minerals Visit
In March, Yandeyarra students were invited to visit the newly opened Pilbara Minerals Pilgangoora Mine Site.
Yandeyarra community members have close connections with Pilbara Minerals, two parents working at the site, and strong links through the Njamal group.
Pilbara Minerals organised a wonderful day for the students, including a bus transportation to and from site.
Students had guided tours of the mine, opportunities to ride in the dump trucks, look at a range of job opportunities and finished the day with a delicious lunch.
It was great to see the mine in action and what it is ‘really like’ to work on a mine. Many students are now keen to work on a mine one day!
