Staff
Yandeyarra School has a strong focus on community based employment, and are the largest employer in Yandeyarra. The school is an exciting and interesting place to work – many of our staff even went to school here as kids!

Classes
Students are grouped into multi-aged classes:
Room 1 – Teacher: Ms Sheryl Delaporte
Room 5 – Teacher: Ms Teresa Galea
Upper Secondary – Teacher: Ms Jessica Albers
All classes follow the Australian Curriculum, and participate in a range of engaging and contextually appropriate activities. Students have access to support and a range of programs including EON gardening, Foodbank, Pilbara Population Health and Allied Health Services, Bloodwood Tree Association, Helping Minds and Child Australia (Playgroup).
Senior School Students (Years 10, 11-12)
Our senior students are provided with the opportunity to enrol in a selected range of Courses, VET, Workplace Learning and Endorsed programs which they can complete onsite and via block release.
Students are provided with the opportunity to undertake selected activities and courses, to provide further engagement and the necessary skills to equip them for success in senior school and into their post-school pathway.
Workplace Learning is a key program, where students have the opportunity to develop their Employability Skills. Yandeyarra school works closely with the Royal Life Saving Pool, and previously had a strong partnership with Yandeyarra’s pastoral activities until the end of 2017 when the community Pastoral employment program was cancelled.
Our school has formed relationships with several local mine sites, which can provide opportunities for work experience and employment pathways. Selected senior students previously had the opportunity to undertake Workplace Learning at Wodgina mine, thanks to the wonderful support from Atlas Iron. Pilbara Minerals also provide significant support to our school, students and community members. We are working to form relationships with Mineral Resources, now they are operating so closely to our community (even building an airport next to our community!).
Students also enjoy a range of engaging practical school and community based activities, including catering for events as part of Technologies, and gaining their Learner’s permit as part of the Keys for Life program.
Support Staff
We have great support staff, many who attended Yandeyarra as students themselves. Education assistants provide direct support to students and programs. Everyone works together with the teachers to support the kids.
Yandeyarra’s cleaners and gardeners ensure our classes and grounds are kept clean and tidy, and are the greenest part of the community!
