Atlas Iron – Community TV Donation

TV Donation

TV Donation from Wodgina and Mount Dove

Yandeyarra Community is very appreciative of the generous donation of TVs from Wodgina and Mount Dove mine sites.

In October 2016, the mine sites organised a delivery to the community, and were grateful to receive TVs with set top boxes and remotes.

As Yandeyarra Community does not have a TV signal, the USB ports on the TVs are very useful for watching DVDs and gaming.

Huge thanks to all the Atlas Iron staff at Wodgina and Mount Dove for their effort and donation, and for their ongoing support of the school and the community.

Mobile Telephone Service – Arrived December 2018!

Thanks to the Australian Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program and the WA Government’s Regional Telecommunications Project, Yandeyarra Community finally received mobile phone reception in December 2018! Yandeyarra was one of many locations across WA to receive support under through the project.

The signal tower was switched on, on the day of the 2018 community Christmas Party, which was an extra special surprise perfectly suited to the event.

Prior to the tower being built, Yandeyarra did not have any access to phone or internet services. The mobile tower has made a significant difference in the lives of all community members and visitors, who can now access the internet and phone services.  The mobile tower provides 4G service in the community and 3G in surrounding area.
