We were lucky enough to get a visit from the Desert Feet 2011 Tour, thanks to our good friends BHP. There were heaps of musicians on top of the Desert Feet crew including Damien Thornber and the Oprhans, Ulla Shay, Bryte MC and the Kiwirrkurra band!
The big truck arrived during the day, and while all the musicians were setting up and doing sound checks, community members had dinner preparations and damper cooking underway for the concert that night. During the music workshops, kids got the chance to write and record two songs – Yandeyarra My Home and DEADLY IN YANDEYARRA (with a little bit of help!)
That night we had an awesome community concert with prizes, music and dancing. The community concert was great – some great music and good food. Some of the musicians even tasted their very first damper. There were prizes for good dancing and singing – well done guys – you have some good moves. Some of us even got the chance to go on stage with Bryte MC!!
We are pretty impressed at how hard the tour works, and we’re hoping they got a bit of a sleep before heading off to Warralong early the next morning!

BHP also donated some awesome band equipment – we are now in the process of setting up our very own band – with a great drummer, lead guitar and keyboarder – but if anyone knows any good bass players please let us know!
Thanks to everyone for a great visit – hopefully we will see you again soon.
